Here are the toggles for:

Line Item Posting:

These are set under the entry code of POSTLN. These toggles affect line item posting and no other program.

BNCPT=Y

Action: In “up arrow” posting, if you have answered “Y” to the ‘assign claim to next carrier’ prompt, and you are in the copay column, pressing <return> will bring you back to the action line (and the screen will redraw) (This effectively skips the copay, deduct, and ‘not covered’ columns)

Otherwise: Only <home> will return you to the action line.

COMBINE_MRN=N  ( Enter Code: POSTCL )

Action: When the cursor is in the Date of Service field used to select the claim for posting, normally the <Tab> key or the <Down Arrow> key will display open or all items for every patient with the SAME MRN as the account number selected. This allows for Cross-Site posting when the provider is paid on the same voucher for multiple Jobs/Sites.

The above toggle will block accounts with the same MRN as the account being posting from showing up in the OPEN ITEMS window and on the VIEW LEDGER programs.

Otherwise: All accounts with the SAME MRN appear together.

FEESCREEN=Y

Action: It will use the expected amounts from the procedure dictionary as the approved amounts in ‘up arrow’ posting. This is based on the patient’s current coverage code.

Otherwise: It doesn’t.

HCPROMPT=N

Action: Stops it from asking for the printer every time you choose H or HE for hardcopy. It will only ask once.

Otherwise: It will ask each time.

ID=N

Action: Suppresses the ‘Enter ID’ prompt.

Otherwise: The prompt appears at the start of posting as usual.

LEARN=AUTO

Action: Allows automatic learn mode. This is activated by typing “LM” at the action line. Line item posting will ask ‘set auto learn mode on?’. If you answer ‘Y’ it will turn auto learn mode on. ‘AUTOLEARN=xx’ will display near the upper right corner of the screen. The amount field it will learn is pulled from the carrier screen field 37, EXPT_AMT. If this is invalid screen will have ‘AUTOLEARN=00’. Just like the other learn mode, it will prompt before changing the dictionary.

Otherwise: “LM” does nothing (unless other toggle, LEARN=YES, is set)

Note: If the you answers ‘N’ to the ‘set auto learn mode on’ question, then the regular learn mode prompt, ‘Learn which amount’, will appear.

Another note: It looks up the field based the carrier assigned to the claim when you first pull it up. (AC will not change the learn amount).

LEARN=YES

Action: Allows learn mode. Learn mode is activated by typing “LM” at the action line. Line item posting will ask ‘which amount to learn’. As you are posting, if the ‘approved’ amount is changed for a procedure, it will write it back to the procedure code dictionary for that dollar amount field. It will ask before making the actual change to the dictionary.

Otherwise: “LM” does nothing (unless LEARN=AUTO is set)

Note: Overrides LEARN=AUTO

NOTE=N

Action: Suppress the ‘add note’ prompt.

Otherwise: This prompt appears after each item posted.

POSTZERO=Y

Action: This will allow you to post a zero dollar transaction.

Otherwise: You can’t.

RECEIPT=Y

Action: Activates ‘patient receipt’ prompt when posting a patient side payment.

Otherwise: There’s no receipt prompt.

SBCOV=N                                                     NEW!

Action: Will always show the patient’s coverage code on the screen.

Otherwise: If there is a carrier-specific coverage code, it will show that instead.

TRANSPT=Y

Action: Activates ‘transfer to patient y/n’ prompt when there are no more insurances to assign the claim to.

Otherwise: The prompt doesn’t appear.

VERIFY=ENTER

Action: Action line defaults to “V” (You can press enter at the action line and that’s the same as doing V to Verify).

Otherwise: You must enter a command.
